It is quite amazing what a good camera, a simple tripod and a 30-second shutter allows one to see. These pictures where taken in Prospect Park, Brooklyn about thirty minutes after the sun set. The unaided eye was unable to make out much in the darkness. Note the jet-trails and the bats.
